Causation or Effectuation:Mechanisms of Decision Logic Influencing Entrepreneurial Improvisation
This paper examines the direct effect of entrepreneurs'causation and effectuation on entrepreneurial improvisation and the mediating effect of boundary-spanning search between them,as well as the moderating effect of team temporal leadership in the process.Based on the data of 420 local startups,it reveals that effectuation decision logic can positively influence entrepreneurial improvisation;the causation decision logic negatively influences entrepreneurial improvisation;the boundary-spanning search plays a mediating role between the causation decision logic/effectuation decision logic and the entrepreneurial improvisation respectively;the temporal leadership can positively moderate the mediating role of the bounda-ry-spanning search.
