Impact of Intellectual Property Protection on Green Technology Innovation:Quasi-natural Experiments Based on IP Demonstration Cities
Based on the panel data of 282 cities in China from 2006 to 2020,this paper constructs a DID model,a mediating effect model, and a spatial Durbin model to empirically explore the relationship between intellectual property protection(IPP)and green technology innovation. The empirical results show that:(1)IPP significantly promotes green technology innovation, and the promotion effects of cities with high development levels and human capital levels are more obvious.(2)strengthening IPP can ultimately promote the level of green technology innovation by strengthening the effect of environmental regulation, improving innovation ability, and increasing R&D investment.(3)IPP has a spatial spillover effect, which has a significant role in promoting green technology innovation in the city and surrounding cities.
