Impact of National Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zones on Low-carbon Development Under Domestic Circulation
Drawing on data gathered from prefecture-level cities spanning 2003 to 2020,this paper employs a multi-peri-od difference-in-differences model to scrutinize the impact of National Industrial Transfer Demonstration Zones(NITDZ)on low-carbon development within the recipient locales. The findings reveal that:(1)The inception of NITDZ markedly bolsters low-carbon development in recipient regions;(2)The impacts of the NITDZ policy on low-carbon development manifest disparities between resource-based cities and non-resource-based cities and between old industrial base cities and non-old industrial base cities;(3)About the channels of impact, the NITDZ policy primarily promotes low-carbon development in recipient areas through the stimulation of green technological innovation and amplification of government at-tention to environmental matters.
