Intellectual Property Governance and Urban Entrepreneurship Vitality:Evidence from "Intellectual Property Demonstration Cities"
This article is based on panel data from 282 prefecture-level cities in China from 2009 to 2021.Using the quasi-natural experiment of Intellectual Property Demonstration City,the difference-in-difference method is used to examine the impact of intellectual property governance on urban entrepreneurial vitality.The research results indicate that intellectual property governance significantly increases urban entrepreneurial vitality by 13.89％,and this conclusion has passed a se-ries of robustness tests.The results of heterogeneity analysis indicate that the impact of the construction of intellectual prop-erty demonstration cities on urban entrepreneurial vitality varies depending on the administrative level,geographical loca-tion,financial development level,and digital economy development level of the city.Mechanism analysis reveals that the construction of intellectual property demonstration cities mainly enhances the entrepreneurial vitality of cities through three channels:government guidance,urban innovation promotion,and talent aggregation.
