The Relationship between Workplace Loneliness and Employee Creativity:A Moderated Mediation Model
Objective Employee creativity is the source of continuous development for enterprises,and it is of great significance to conduct research on the relationship between workplace loneliness and employee creativity.There-fore,a moderated mediation model is proposed to study the relationship between workplace loneliness and employee creativity.Methods A theoretical analysis was conducted on the relationship between workplace loneliness and em-ployee creativity,and four hypotheses were proposed.Using psychological capital as a moderating variable and work-related rumination which is divided into two dimensions:problem-solving pondering and affective rumination as me-diating variables,construct a moderated mediation model,and conduct empirical analysis on the relationship between workplace loneliness and employee creativity through research.Results The results indicate that there is a negative correlation between workplace loneliness and employee creativity.Problem-solving pondering and affective rumination play a mediating role in the relationship between workplace loneliness and employee creativity.Psychological capital regulates workplace loneliness through problem-solving pondering and affective rumination and has an indirect effect on employee creativity.Conclusion Enterprises should attach importance to the mental health of employees,improve their psychological capital level through providing training,support,and incentives,help them better cope with work-place loneliness,and maintain creativity.
