Career Adaptability for Parents and Adolescence:The Mediating Role of Adolescence Career Aspirations
Objective To explore the relationship and potential mechanism between career adaptability of adoles-cents(15-20 years old)and their parents'career adaptability,so as to study the effects of paternal career adaptability on adolescents'career aspirations and adaptability,and to provide references for how to develop adolescents'career a-daptability.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted online,anonymously and voluntarily among 541 students from two high schools in China.Results(1)Parents'career adaptability positively predicted adolescents'career aspi-rations and career adaptability;(2)Adolescents'career aspirations play a mediating role between parents'career adapt-ability and adolescents'career adaptability;(3)The career adaptability of parents has an interactive effect on the pre-diction of adolescents'career aspirations and career adaptability.Conclusion The vocational adaptability of adoles-cents can be developed by intervening their career aspirations and their parents'career adaptability.Father's career a-daptability is also very important.When father's career adaptability is low,high mother's career adaptability cannot pos-itively predict adolescents'high career adaptability.The influence of father's career adaptability should not be ignored in the training of adolescents'career adaptability.
