Investigation and protection research on natural shoreline of Nanhui Spit in Yangtze River Delta
The coastline is the intersection of land and sea that combines ecological functions and resource value. To understand the recent ecological environment status of the natural coastline of Nanhui Spit in the Yangtze River Delta, the satellite remote sensing data and historical data of the tidal flat of Nanhui Spit,as well as the survey data of benthos samples, sediment samples and water quality samples in the intertidal zone from 2021 to 2022 were collected for comparative analysis. The results indicated that in the intertidal zone, the biological species were generally stable, and the sediment environment was relatively good. However the vegetation growth area was severely invaded by foreign species, and the water environment was in poor condition. The invasion of alien species, beach erosion, tourism activities, marine debris, and the impact of pollutants were the main threats. Finally, the measures and suggestions for protection and utilization was proposed. The research results can providing a scientific basis for con-structing a reasonable natural shoreline pattern.
