Experimental study on degradation process of mixed landfill with sludge and municipal solid waste
The sludge contains a large number of microorganisms and easily degradable organic matter.Mixing sludge into waste landfill will have a certain impact on the biochemical degradation process of domestic waste, and affect the stabilization process of landfill. To solve this problem, the study on the biochemical degradation of mixed landfills with sludge and municipal solid waste(MSW)was carried out,and the change law of the degradation process of mixed landfills was studied from the perspectives of pH,COD,and ammonia concentration of leachate and gas production law.The results showed that the concentration of COD and ammo-nia nitrogen in landfill leachate gradually increased at the initial stage of biodegradation, and when the biochemical degradation entered the stabilization stage, the concentration of COD and ammonia nitrogen gradually decreased.Organic matter degradation produced organic acids and other small molecular organic matter, and accumulated in leachate, increasing COD concentration. With the increase of sludge proportion, the total amount of gas produced gradually increased, but when the sludge amount exceeded 30%,the total amount of gas production gradually decreased.Mixing sludge into MSW can promote the biochemical degradation process of MSW,but the proportion of sludge is not the more the better, when the sludge amount exceeds 30%,it will inhibit the biochemical degradation process.
