Optimization of water engineering regulation aiming to reduce pollutant flux into Taihu Lake
The reduction of pollutants flux into lake is the focus of water environment improvement in Taihu Lake. The Xinmeng River Project is the only important river channel that can directly connect the Changjiang River and the inner area of the upper reaches of Taihu Lake Basin.Previous work has found that since the implementation of the project, with the flow diverted from the Changjiang River into Taihu Lake, the water quality of the rivers into the Huxi hydraulic region has been significantly improved, but the overall pollutant flux into Taihu Lake has also further increased.Aiming at this problem after the normal operation of Xin-meng River project,we are about to adjust the projects'dispatch flexibly and arrange water flowing route reasonably,in which we will increase the drainage outlets along the Changjiang River. In detail,we utilize the Xinmeng River to drain the lake water to the Changjiang River so as to promote the hinterland poor quality water to be drained to the Changjaing River,so the pollutant flux in-to the Taihu Lake will be effectively reduced. The results show that by optimizing the current scheduling of the Xinmeng River pro-ject,the amount of water discharged from the Xinmeng River can be increased by 468 million m3 in the typical normal year(p=50%).Compared with the current scheduling scheme, the ammonia nitrogen flux into the Huxi area is reduced by184 t/a,and the total phosphorus flux into the lake is reduced by 35.5 t/a.It shows that the optimized water project scheduling scheme is a feasi-ble measure to reduce the pollutant flux into the lake by using the water project scheduling. The relevant research results can pro-vide new ideas for the water environment treatment of Taihu Lake.
