Research on Reinforcement Measures for Toe of Dongzhuang High Arch Dam Under Complicated Geological Conditions
The cracking, yielding, and instability failure of ultra-high arch dams mainly originate from stress concentration areas such as the heel and toe of the arch dam, especially the possibility of compressive shear damage at the toe.The stability of the rock mass and foundation reinforcement in this area determines the safety of the arch dam. This article was based on the Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project's ultra-high arch dam, combined with the overall deformation analysis results of three-dimensional elastic-plastic finite element based on deformation reinforcement theory and the results of geomechanical model tests, and proposed a reinforcement design scheme for the ultra-high arch dam toe of the Dongzhuang Water Conservancy Project.
