Preparation and Study of a New Modified Water-Glass Sand-Fixing Agent
In order to solve the issues of relatively poor water resistance and unsatisfactory sand-fixing effect of existing chemical sand-fixing agents in the market, some organic and inorganic modified materials were added into water glass,a new type of composite sand-fixing agent with high strength, durability and stability was prepared. The results show that:a)According to the modulus of sodium silicate is 3.0,the addition of sodium tetraborate, lithium carbonate, sorbitol and polyacrylamide are 1.5%,2.5%,0.2%and 0.3%respectively,and the addi-tion of sodium carboxymethyl cellulose is 0.3%,the strength of the sand-fixing layer can reach 14.1 MPa.b)The new modified sodium sili-cate sand-fixing agent has good stability and durability. After aging at 70℃high temperature and-20℃low temperature for 7 days, the loss rates of unconfined compressive strength are 11.8%and 19.5%respectively,at 700℃,the mass loss rate is only 8.6%.c)The sand-fixing effect of the new modified sodium silicate sand-fixing agent is good. The sand-fixing layer shows no or slight wind erosion when the wind speed is less than 20 m/s.
