Spatial-Temporal Evolution and Driving Mechanisms of Land Use Pattern Along the Yellow River in Zhengzhou and Luoyang Cities
Located in the south bank of the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River,Zhengzhou and Luoyang have a special position and role in the ecological protection of Henan Province and even the Yellow River basin.Based on the four periods'land use data from 1990 to 2022 and combined with the PLUS model, the paper analyzed the spatial-temporal evolution characteristics and driving mechanisms of land use in the area along the Yellow River in Zhengzhou and Luoyang cities from the aspects of land use dynamic degree, transfer matrix,migra-tion of gravity center and landscape pattern. The results show that arable land and construction land are the dominant landscape types.Over the past 32 years, the area of arable land has shrunk significantly, while construction land has expanded dramatically and mainly derived from arable land.Forestland and grassland are concentrated in the western and southern areas. From 2000 to 2010,the transformation of ara-ble land into water mainly occurs along the northern Yellow River coast. The gravity center of construction land moves to the southwest, and tends to contiguous development. The dominant position of arable land has weakened and spatial heterogeneity has increased. The overall nat-ural connectivity has decreased, and fragmentation has intensified. The decrease of arable land and expansion of construction land has mainly influenced by population density in socio-economic factors, and natural factors are the main drivers for the change of ecological land.
