Identification of Ecological Protection Goals for the Natural Oasis at the End of Heihe River
The Heihe River Basin is a typical resources-based water scarce area with long-standing water supply and demand contradictions.Taking the area below Langxin Mountain in Heihe River Basin as the research object, this study identified core ecological source areas by combining morphological spatial pattern analysis methods with patch area and landscape connectivity index. An ecological resistance surface was constructed by using the assignment method and spatial principal component analysis.Based on the source-sink theory in landscape ecolo-gy,the minimum cumulative resistance model was used for ecological functional zoning to identify the protection targets and scope of the natu-ral oases at the end of Heihe River. The results show that based on the ecological corridor concept, the ecological protection targets and scope for the lower reaches of Heihe River have been determined. The ecological protection targets are divided into ecological core areas, ecological buffer zones, ecological transition zones and ecological edge zones, with the areas of 1 562.63,1 472.55,3 013.13 and 7 921.19 km2 respec-tively.The ecological core area of the river ecological corridor includes specific sections of the main streams and tributaries within certain dis-tances,i.e.2.21 km within the Donghe main stream from Langxin Mountain to the Nalin River water intake gate,8.10 km within the Erdao River,0.63 km within the Sandao River,3.27 km within the Sida River,7.16 km within the Wudao River,7.48 km within the Liudao Riv-er,12.28 km within the Qidao River,4.53 km within the Angci River and 9.82 km within the Xihe main stream from Langxin Mountain to the Laicige Aobao.
