Effects of Farmland Drainage Ditch Water Irrigation on Saline-Alkali Properties of Soil and Heavy Metals of Paddy
In view of the shortage of agricultural water resources and the abundant water resources of farmland drainage ditch in Yinbei region of Ningxia, the test was conducted at the Station of Saline-Alkali Soils Improvement Experiment in Pingluo County,Ningxia(106°31′E,38° 51′N)to research on the effects of farmland drainage ditch water irrigation on saline-alkali properties of soil and heavy metals of paddy through using field monitoring and indoor detection. The results show that the salinity of farmland drainage ditch water from experimental field during the rice growth period is less than 1.2 g/L and pH is less than 8.54,it belongs to the range of mildly brackish water and fresh water. The use of farmland drainage ditch water irrigation will not lead to soil saline-alkali aggravation and excessive heavy metal content of soil and paddy.Compared with the Yellow River irrigation, direct farmland drainage ditch water irrigation will reduce the rice yield by 19.7%.There is little difference between mixed irrigation and alternate irrigation on rice yield. Therefore, under the shortage of water resources in the Yellow River can be appropriate use of farmland drainage ditch water for mixed irrigation or alternated irrigation with the Yellow River water to ensuring food security.
