Risk Assessment of Landslide Susceptibility in Heishanxia Area Based on Information Quantity Model
Landslide is one of the main geological hazards in the Heishanxia region of the Yellow River. It is particularly necessary to carry out the evaluation of landslide susceptibility in the preliminary work of the proposed Heishanxia Hydro-Junction Project.Based on the investi-gation of the geological conditions, climate and human activities in the Heishanxia area, nine factors were selected as indicators for evaluating landslide susceptibility, including elevation, slope, curvature, lithology, distance to faults, distance to water systems,NDVI(Normalized Difference Vegetation Index),distance to roads and precipitation.Utilizing the Information Quantity Model,a landslide susceptibility assess-ment was conducted.By calculating the graded weights of each factor, the information value for landslide susceptibility was obtained.By over-laying and partitioning the information on landslide susceptibility,a landslide susceptibility zoning map was drawn in the Heishanxia area to determine the hazardous areas. The results indicate that high-risk areas for landslide disasters in the Heishanxia region are located in Shapotou District of Zhongwei City in the northeast,Jingyuan County in the south and along major rivers and roads. The lithology of these areas is rela-tively weak, mostly consisting of loose materials such as sand and loess.Under the influence of river alluvial and human activities, surface slope instability is prone to occur.
