Research and Application of EGD Protocol for GE Gas Turbine Control System
In 1998,General Electric(GE)company developed an Ethernet global data(EGD)communication protocol for its programmable logic controller(PLC)and industrial controller to exchange data between each PLC and controller.The protocol is a stable and efficient communication protocol with high speed and stable communication.At present,a considerable number of gas turbine power plants use distributed control system(DCS)and gas turbine control system(TCS)for coordinated control of combined cycle.If EGD communication protocol can be applied to transmit data between different control systems,the cost of data interaction between systems will be greatly saved and data utilization rate will be improved.However,the external information of this protocol was few,GE company did not provide detailed documents.The author took the Mark VIe network of the work unit as the experimental object,carried out research on the EGD communication protocol,and independently compiled a set of protocol conversion software,and successfully applied to the production practice.
