Analysis and Treatment of Surge Phenomenon in Air-cooled Steam Turbine Generator
In order to solve the problem of abnormal increase in single side inlet air temperature of air-cooled steam turbine generator during the start-up process of gas steam combined cycle split shaft unit,by analyzing the temperature rise of the inlet air temperature at both ends of the air-cooled turbine generator, the sound at the generator end,the vibration of the end cover, and the characteristics of the closed air circulation ventilation system of the generator during the thrust and speed increase process of this type of unit.It is found that the operation of the cooling fans at both ends of air-cooled steam turbine generator has the characteristics of parallel operation of axial flow fans, and in some cases, rotational stall or surge phenomenon also occurs. And it is proposed that the rapid and abnormal increase in the temperature of the inlet air on one side of the generator is an important characteristic of the surge of the air-cooled generator in a closed cycle. After taking corresponding measures, the problem of abnormal increase in single-side inlet air temperature of the same type of air-cooled steam turbine generator has been basically solved, which has reference significance for newly built or put into operation units of the same type.
