Research Progress on the Application and Influence Factors of Embryo Culture in Pepper Breeding
In order to apply embryo culture technology well in pepper breeding and promote the breeding of pepper varieties,the application status of embryo culture technology in peppers was summarized,including rescuing pepper embryo abortion,shortening breeding cycles,rapid identification of seed vitality,providing excellent explants for molecular breeding and so on.And the research progress on key factors affecting pepper embryo culture,such as embryo age,genotype,basic culture medium,plant growth regulators,episperm treatment and other additives were reviewed.It was found that there were relatively few applications of embryo culture technology in pepper breeding to solve the problem of distant hybrid embryo abortion.It was recommended to strengthen the research of application of embryo culture technology in pepper embryo abortion and interspecies hybridization incompatibility,in order to accelerate the cultivation of excellent pepper varieties.
