Countermeasures for Improving Watermelon Quality in Late Spring and Early Summer
In view of the imbalance between supply and demand caused by the large market demand but the difficulty of production and high management cost of high-quality watermelon in late spring and early summer,some key measures was put forward to overcome the production obstacles,including selecting high-quality medium and small fruit varieties,transforming and upgrading cultivation facilities,and adopting cultivation methods such as raising ridges and increasing ditches,reducing fertilization and reducing density.At the same time,it was pointed out that the high-quality,safe,standardized,regional,large-scale and brand production of watermelon in late spring and early summer could be further realized by fostering top brands,packaging into the market,insisting on order production and sales,producing according to sales,maintaining appropriate planting scale and establishing stricter quality control path.
