Evaluation of New Welsh Onion Varieties Based on Principal Component Analysis and Correlation Analysis Between Agronomic Traits and Yield
In order to evaluate the characteristics of welsh onion vareities scientifically, eight vareities of welsh onion newly selected by experts of national characteristic vegetable industry technical system were introduced to carry out comparative experiment.Principal component analysis and correlation analysis were used to comprehensively evaluate eight agronomic traits and yield of different vareities, including plant height, bulb length, stem diameter, maximum leaf length, maximum leaf width, functional leaf number, leaf color and leaf wax powder. The results showed that based on the principal component contribution rates of eight agronomic traits, the top three vareities were'Ancong No.3''YS09'and'YS08',with'Ancong No.3'had the highest yield, followed by'YS08'and'YS09',and the yield of all three vareities were significantly higher than that of the control. The correlation analysis between comprehensive score and eight agronomic traits, yield and other indicators showed the yield and comprehensive score was extremely significantly and positively correlated with plant height and maximum leaf length, and significantly positively correlated with bulb length, and the yield was extremely significantly and positively correlated with the comprehensive score.Overall, the comprehensive agronomic trait score of'Ancong No.3'was higher than other treatments, and the yield was the highest, reaching 8 887.49 kg per 667 m2.Its plant was tall(83.84 cm),bulb was long(11.48 cm)and thick(266 mm),and its growth speed was fast,so it could be extended for planting.
