Evaluation of Local Characteristic Thin-skinned Melon Varieties
In order to select thin-skinned melon varieties with good fruit flavor,high nutritional value and high yield suitable for planting in Bayannur city,a comparative experiment was conducted on seven local varieties of thin-skinned melons.The indicators of plant traits,fruit traits,fruit quality and yield were measured.The results showed that both'Denglonghong melon'and'Bailicui melon'were early maturing varieties with good fruit appearance and good flavor.The fruit of'Denglonghong melon'is pear-shaped,soft texture and unique aroma,whose content of soluble solids is the highest(7.80%)and the content of vitamin C is higher(0.26 mg/g).'Bailicui melon'has an oval shape,white skin and flesh,and a unique aroma,with the highest content of soluble solids(7.80%)and a high yield(3 449.10 kg per 667 m2).'Luohuaxiang melon'has high nutritional value,with the highest soluble protein content and vitamin C content,which are 0.38 mg/kg and 0.28 mg/g,respectively.'Hupicui melon'is oval shaped with a unique fruit aroma,which has a high content of soluble solids(7.50%),soluble protein(0.36 mg/kg),and vitamin C(0.24 mg/g),and a high yield ranking second(4 726.34 kg per 667 m2).In summary,'Denglonghong melon''Bailicui melon1'Luohuaxiang melon'and'Hupicui melon'have their own characteristics and outstanding overall performance,which can be promoted and planted as local characteristic thin-skinned melons in the Bayannur city.
