Development of a Directional Online Non-sampling Measurement System for Airborne Radionuclides
Radionuclides are emitted into the atmosphere during a nuclear explosion,an accident or normal operation of a nuclear facility. In order to evaluate airborne radionuclides in a more timely, accurate and effective way,an online measurement system for airborne radionuclides was developed based on the mathematical model established for the exposure rate and activity concentration of each radionuclide, and the shielding device for ground-based gamma-rays was used in the development process.Besides, the activity concentration of 40 K was calculated with this measurement system. The results showed that the directional online non-sampling measurement system for airborne radionuclides can be used to accurately measure the activity concentration of airborne radionuclides, and it is featured by great convenience, wide measurement range, short response time and on-line measurement.
