Investigation and Assessment on Foundational Conditions of Yellow River Basin Nature Reserve in Sichuan
The basic conditions of nature reserves are essential for effective management of nature reserves. This research quantitatively assessed the basic conditions of five Yellow River Basin Nature Reserves in Sichuan from 2012 to 2021 using a quantitative evaluation model. An analysis of the changes of these areas over the past decade was conducted.Findings indicated that, compared with 2012,the overall basic conditions of the five Yellow River Basin Nature Reserves in Sichuan were slightly improved in 2021.Specifically,the conditions of Manzetang and Riganqiao Nature Reserves remained"moderate",while the Kaha Erqiao Nature Reserve was improved from"poor"to"moderate".The national nature reserves(Ruoergai and Changsha Gongma)remained"excellent".Two recommendations were proposed, including innovative conservation mechanisms and establishing a dedicated fund for the construction of nature reserves in the Yellow River Basin to address the limited improvements for local nature reserves.
