Study on seismic performance of frame structure with new partial shear walls
Adding some shear walls to the frame structure can obviously improve the seismic performance of the structure. The stress behavior of the new and old concrete interface of the frame structure and the new shear walls is the key problem in structural analysis. The finite element software ABAQUS was used to establish four frame-shear wall models with a height to width ratio of 1.5 based on the interface simulation method of the new and the old concrete.Through low cycle reciprocating loading, the influence of parameters of the new and the old concrete interface, the concrete strength of newly added shear wall and the connection mode of wall and frame on the bearing capacity was studied. The differences between frame structure with new partial shear walls and whole-cast frame-wall structure in failure form, bearing capacity and ductility were analyzed. The results show that the yield load and peak load of the frame structure with new partial shear walls are weaker than that of the whole-cast frame-wall structure. There is little difference in the bearing capacity between the way that the newly added wall has dark columns at the end and the way that the distributed bars are completely inserted into the frame. The calculation formula of the horizontal bearing capacity for frame structure with new partial shear walls was given.
