Experimental study on reinforcement of bolted ball joints in steel grid frames with external steel plates not tightened in place
In the bolted ball joint grid, bolts are the main load-bearing components, and the connection quality of high-strength bolts has a significant impact on the load-bearing capacity of the grid.In existing engineering practices,it is common for high-strength bolts to not be tightened in place, resulting in quality defects such as gaps and looseness in the sleeves at the connections, reducing the load-bearing capacity of the joints, and easily causing significant structural deflection, which affects the installation quality of the grid.In order to ensure the stress at the joints,in view of the situation that the high-strength bolts were not fastened in place, the method of strengthening with external steel plates was proposed, and the one-way tensile testing was carried out on the strengthened specimens to study the failure mode, bearing capacity, strain development, etc.of the specimens, explore the feasibility of the strengthening method, and propose the strengthening design calculation method.
