In this paper comprehensive analysis was made of the growth feature of Ailanthus altissima by setting reference land and trunk analysis in Ailanthus altissima plantations.The preliminary conclusion showed that the height growth of Ailanthus altissima growed faster in the young period and the average growth reached maximum between 8～11 years,then its height growth became gradually slow.The DBH growth had the most rapid growth in the first 15 years,and its slow growth stage came later.Its volume growth peak appeared in the 15～20 years,and in artificial tending it generally reached quantity mature in the 15 years or so.Based on the simulation in volume formula,the binary volume formula of Ailanthus altissima was preliminarily drawn up.Therefore Ailanthus altissima was suitable for cultivating the fast-growing and high-yield forest with short rotation.
