A Study of the Effects of a Combined Exercise,Diet and Health Education Intervention for Centrally Obese University Students
Objective:To investigate the effect of combined exercise,diet and health education interventions on body composition and body shape of centrally obese college students.Methods:Fifty college students with body fat test as obese were randomly selected from a key university in Shanxi Province,and 32 centrally obese college students were selected as the study subjects,and they were subjected to a 12-week combined exercise,diet and health education intervention,and the indicators were tested before and after the intervention,and the results were compared and analyzed.Results:After the intervention,the weight,BMI,body fat rate,body fat percentage,chest circumference,waist circumference,hip circumference and thigh circumference of male university students all improved very significantly compared with those before the intervention(all P values<0.01);female university students'weight,BMI,body fat rate,body fat percentage,waist circumference and thigh circumference all improved very significantly compared with those before the intervention(all P values<0.01),and chest circumference and hip circumference all improved significantly compared with those before the intervention(all P values<0.05)(all P-values<0.05).Conclusion:The 12-week exercise,diet and health education combined intervention method can effectively improve the obesity status of central obese college students,and the fat-reducing effect is remarkable.At the same time,the body shape and body composition have been improved,and the method can be popularized as a scientific way to reduce fat for central obese college students.
