In order to understand the mastery of basic motor skills of children in China and South Korea, analyze the differences and causes, sharing and complementing each other's strengths, and provide reference for the improvement of basic motor skills of children in both countries.125 children aged 5-6 years old in Shandong Province,China and 170 children aged 5-6 years old in Gyeonggi,Korea were randomly selected as the subjects of the experiment, and the basic motor skills were evaluated by developing a common assessment tool with good reliability in both countries. The data were analyzed by using cross-tabulation analysis, and the difference between groups was tested by x2 test. The results manifested that the percentage of Korean children who could jump continuously on both feet, jump on one foot, and avoid tennis was larger than that of Chinese children, while the percentage of Korean children who were able to stand on one foot, catch a volleyball, and throw a tennis ball accurately was smaller than that of Chinese children.Except for the one-leg stand test, which was not significantly different between the two countries(p>0.05),all other tests were significantly different(p<0.05).Therefore,it was concluded that Korean children had a better mastery of mobility and stability skills, while Chinese children had a better mastery of manipulative skills.
