《活着》英译本在美国的译介效果研究

摘要
图书馆馆藏量、销量、学术被引量和读者评论构成一部作品的译介效果评价体系.白睿文(Michael Berry)英译的《活着》(To Live:A Novel)在美国的传播范围较广,受到了广大读者的青睐.然而,该译本的学术被引量较少,反映其学术影响力有待提高.在读者评论方面,专业读者和普通读者整体上对该译本持正向情感,两类读者均对作品的人文主题给予了肯定.专业读者的评论主要聚焦作品主题,普通读者则更关注人物形象.就译文质量而言,读者评论以正向情感为主,但有少量负向情感评论指出译文在遣词造句和语言流畅度上需要进一步提升.基于《活着》英译本在美国的译介效果,笔者为中国文学译作的海外传播提出了建议.
Abstract
Library collections,sales,academic citations and readers'reviews together constitute an evaluation system of the reception of translated works.Michael Berry's English translation of To Live:A Novel is widely circulated in America and is popular among readers.However,the academic citations of the book are not very encouraging,implying that the academic impact of the book needs to be enhanced.As for the readers'reviews,both professional readers and common readers have positive attitudes towards the English translation of To Live on the whole.Both of them recognize the human spirit presented in the book.Besides,professional readers'reviews focus more on the themes of the work,while common readers pay more attention to the characters.In terms of the quality of the translation,most readers make positive comments,but there are still a small number of negative comments indicating that the translation needs to be improved in phrasing and fluency.In light of the reception of the English translation of To Live in America,this paper puts forward suggestions for the global dissemination of translated Chinese literary works.
