Scientific Research and Innovation Competence of Business English Graduates from the Perspective of New Liberal Arts(2011-2021)
Whether the Business English graduates cultivated on the interdisciplinary mindset can strengthen their scientific research and service on social hotspots in the field of practice,and whether their scientific research and innovation qualities align with the inheritance and innovation,intersection and integration,and collaboration and sharing emphasized in the New Liberal Arts demands investigation and new requirements for the cultivation of Business English graduates.Based on the theoretical framework of the New Liberal Arts,this paper investigates the research output of Business English postgraduates from 2011-2021 by quantitative analysis,aiming to analyze the innovation performance.The results indicate:1)The overall figure of published articles shows an upward trend over time with limited high-quality research articles;2)The research focuses on two major fields:business English teaching and the economic value of discourse;3)The innovation approach is relatively traditional and featured with non-linear characteristic,and empirical research is overwhelmingly dominant.This article not only analyzes the scientific research innovation ability of Business English postgraduates from a new liberal arts perspective but also proposes solutions for its improvement and enhancement.
