Reflections on Research Ethics in Foreign Language Education:A Response to Professor Huang Guowen's Paper
This article discusses three innovative aspects of Professor Huang Guowen's paper"Ethical Issues in Teaching and Researching Applied Linguistics".It highlights the following aspects:(1)the partial understanding of ethical issues by Chinese scholars;(2)the researchers'agency and moral stance in ethical issues;(3)the subjectivity involved in judging ethical issues.The article also points out two current deficiencies in research ethics:(1)the lack of clear value orientation;(2)the lack of interactive connections in categorization.In response to these deficiencies,this article attempts to propose a dynamic relational framework for research ethics in foreign language education.
