The Tenets,Principles and Methods of Applying Construction Grammar to Foreign Language Teaching
Unlike traditional foreign language teaching approaches that are grounded in vocabulary and grammatical rules,construction grammar views constructions as the fundamental units of language,thereby transforming the understanding of language and language knowledge.This perspective provides an opportunity for the innovation of language teaching concepts,the formulation of teaching principles,and breakthroughs in teaching methods.The basic tenets,principles,and methods of construction grammar give rise to three major concepts,six principles,and three teaching methods for foreign language education.The three concepts provide theoretical guidance for the six principles,which are specific teaching methods.The in-depth development of construction grammar in the field of foreign language teaching not only broadens the research scope of construction grammar,but also highlights its practical value in educational contexts.
