Objective To investigate the biomechanical characteristics of hip joints during walking in adults with symp-tomatic flat foot. Methods A cross-sectional observational study, from June to July 2022,21 adults with symptomatic flat feet and 9 subjects with normal feet were recruited in rehabilitation medicine center in our hospital.Through 3D gait analysis, the changes of kinematics and kinetics of hip joint during stance phase were compared between two groups(P>0.05).The role of hip joint during stance phase was emphasized. Results There was no significant difference in age、height or body weight between two groups.During terminal stance phase, the peak hip rotation angle, flexion moment and adduction moment in symptomatic flat feet patients were significantly lower than those in normal subjects(P<0.05).During terminal stance phase, the saggital ground reac-tion force, ankle moment and ankle power during push-off were smaller than those of normal subjects(P<0.05).Conclusion In this study,we observe the biomechanical characteristics of the hip joint in adult patients with symptomatic flat foot during walking, and find that during terminal stance phase, patients are mainly regulated by hip strategy, and hip strategy shows important clinical significance in changing symptoms and improving function.
