Objective To evaluate and contrast the clinical presentations and radiological signs of fungal ball sphenoid si-nusitis(FBSS)versus fungal ball maxillary sinusitis(FBMS).Methods The clinical presentations and radiological signs were retrospectively investigated in 30 FBSS and 126 FBMS patients treated at our hospital from January 2015 to June 2020.Results Both FBSS and FBMS tended to occur in females aged 40 to 60 years old.The disease course was most common within six months.The characteristic CT findings were calcified foci and osteophytes.Headache,eye swelling,and epiphora were more common in FBSS than in FBMS(P<0.05);Facial discomfort was more common in FBMS than in FBSS(P<0.05).Conclusion CT features of both FBSS and FBMS are calcified foci and osteophytes.The common and relatively characteristic clinical symptom is headache in FBSS.The relatively characteristic clinical symptoms are eye ache bilges and tears spill in FBSS,and facial discomfort in FBMS patients.
