Study on the Correlation Between Hospitalization Status and Nursing Needs in the Elderly after Falls and Fractures
Objective:To explore and analyze the correlation between hospitalization status and nursing needs of elderly patients with fractures caused by falls. Methods:Using the convenient cluster sampling method,76 elderly inpatients after fall fractures who were diagnosed and treated in our hospital from January 2022 to January 2023 were selected as the research objects. The general data, nursing service needs and hospitalization status of all patients were investigated and recorded, and the correlation and multivariate analysis were conducted. Results:Among the 76 patients, the scores of each dimension of nursing service demand were:emotional support(17.24±1.79)points,respect and communication(17.62±1.43)points,information(16.84±1.42)points,quality nursing care(17.09±1.58)points,and the total score was(70.82±1.78)points.The shortest hospital stay of 76 patients was 4 days, the longest was 14 days, the average hospital stay was(8.29±0.14)d,and 38 patients had hospital stay≧8 d.Complications occurred in 9 cases(11.8%)during hospitalization, including 1 case of bedsore,2 cases of venous thrombosis,2 cases of infection, and 4 cases of urinary retention. There were statistically significant differences in the total scores of nursing service needs of patients with different education levels, ages, children's status, medical insurance status, length of hospital stay, and complications during hospitalization(P<0.05).Spearman analysis showed that the total score of nursing service demand was correlated with the length of hospital stay and complications(P<0.05).Multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that education level, age, children's status, medical insurance status, length of hospital stay and complications during hospitalization were important factors affecting the total score of nursing service demand of patients(P<0.05).Conclusion:The nursing needs of elderly patients with fractures caused by falls are at a high level, which is correlated with the hospitalization status of patients. The education level, age, children's status, medical insurance status, length of hospital stay and complications during hospitalization are important factors affecting the total score of nursing service needs of patients.
