Effect of Intramuscular Taping Technique on Shoulder Pain in Patients with Cervical Spinal Cord Injury
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of intramuscular taping technique combined with conventional comprehensive rehabilitation in the treatment of shoulder pain in patients with cervical spinal cord injury(SCI).Methods:A total of 38 patients with cervical SCI admitted to Guangdong Industrial Injury Rehabilitation Hospital from November 2021 to February 2024 were selected as the study objects, all of them had varying degrees of shoulder pain. They were randomly divided into a control group and a study group according to random number table method, with 19 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional comprehensive rehabilitation treatment, and the study group was treated with intramuscular taping technology on the basis of the control group. The pain degree score, upper limb muscle strength and daily self-care ability of the two groups were compared. Results:After intervention, the pain degree scores of both groups were lower than before intervention, and the study group was lower than the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in treatment effectiveness between the two groups(P<0.05).Before and after intervention, there were no significant differences in total muscle strength and Improved Barthel Index score of key upper limb muscles between the two groups(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the treatment of shoulder pain in patients with cervical SCI,the application of intramuscular adhesive technique combined with conventional comprehensive rehabilitation is more effective than that of conventional comprehensive rehabilitation alone, and the pain degree of patients is lower.
