Clinical Observation of Sihuang Powder External Application Combined with Wrist and Ankle Acupuncture Therapy in Nursing of Elderly Patients with Distal Radius Fracture
Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Sihuang Powder external application combined with wrist and ankle acupuncture in nursing of elderly patients with distal radius fracture(DRF).Methods:A total of 68 elderly patients with DRF admitted to Taihe County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2020 to January 2024 were selected as the study objects.They were divided into a control group and an observation group by random number table method,with 34 cases in each group.The control group was given routine nursing,the observation group was treated with Sihuang Powder combined with wrist and ankle acupuncture therapy on the basis of routine nursing.Pain,swelling,recovery,wrist function,wrist range of motion,ability of daily living and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Results:On the 3rd and 6th day of intervention,the pain degree and swelling degree scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The hospitalization time and fracture healing time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After intervention,the Cooney wrist joint score,wrist joint range of motion,daily living ability scale score and health survey summary table score of both groups were higher than before intervention,the above indicators in observation group were higher than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of Sihuang Powder external application combined with wrist and ankle acupuncture therapy in nursing care of elderly patients with DRF is beneficial to alleviate the symptoms of wrist swelling and pain,promote the recovery of wrist function,shorten the recovery time,effectively improve the daily living ability and quality of life of patients.
