Objective:To analyze the clinical value of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT)and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in thoracolumbar burst fractures. Methods:A total of 80 patients with suspected thoracolumbar burst fractures admitted to Linshu County People's Hospital from March 2022 to March 2024 were selected as the study subjects.MSCT and MRI examinations were performed in all patients admitted to hospital. The diagnostic efficacy of MSCT and MRI examinations were analyzed using surgical pathology as the gold standard. Results:Among the 80 suspected thoracolumbar burst fractures,67 cases were diagnosed as thoracolumbar burst fractures by surgical pathology. The diagnostic sensitivity, accuracy and negative prediction rate of thoracolumbar burst fractures by MSCT+MRI were higher than those by MSCT and MRI,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The coincidence rates of MSCT and MRI were the same in the diagnosis of vertebral height change, spinal stenosis and spinal hematomas. The coincidence rates of MRI in the diagnosis of ligament injury, spinal cord injury and disc injury were higher than those of MSCT,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:MSCT and MRI can be used in the diagnosis of thoracolumbar burst fracture, the diagnostic accuracy and sensitivity of the combined application of the two methods are higher,MRI has high diagnostic value for ligament injury, spinal cord injury and intervertebral disc injury.
