Analysis of the Application of Small Incision Tumor Extraction Combined with ADM Repair Membrane in the Prevention of Frey Syndrome of Patients after Parotid Gland Tumor Surgery
Objective:To investigate the effect of small incision tumor extraction combined with acellular allogenic dermal matrix(ADM)repair membrane in the prevention of patients with Frey syndrome after parotid surgery.Methods:Clinical data of 60 patients with benign parotid tumor treated in Zhaoqing First People's Hospital from July 2021 to November 2023 were retrospectively analyzed,and they were divided into a control group and a study group according to different treatment methods,with 30 cases in each group.The control group received a small incision tumor resection,while the study group used ADM repair membrane in addition to the surgery in the control group.The postoperative follow-up time of both groups was 6 months.The incidence of Frey syndrome,facial nerve function,postoperative recovery index,complication occurrence and recurrence were compared between the two groups.Results:Six months after operation,the incidence of Frey syndrome in the study group was lower than that in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Six months after surgery,Sunnybrook Facial Nerve Rating Scale score in the two groups were higher than those before surgery,and those in the study group were higher than those in the control group,with statistical significance(P<0.05).The time of swelling regression and wound healing in the study group were shorter than those in the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the study group was 3.33%,which was lower than 23.33%in the control group,the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The recurrence rate in the study group was 6.67%,compared with 16.67%in the control group,the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:The combination of small incision resection and ADM repair membrane can significantly prevent Frey syndrome in patients after parotid gland surgery,which can improve facial nerve function and promote recovery process,reduce the occurrence of complications,and has a certain degree of safety.
