Study on the Treatment of Chronic Osteomyelitis with 3D-Printed Absorbable Antibiotic Carriers
Objective:To investigate the application and efficacy of 3D-printed absorbable antibiotic carriers in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis. Methods:A total of 80 patients with chronic osteomyelitis admitted to Sunshine Union hospital from March 2021 to January 2024 were selected as the research subjects.Patients were divided into an experimental group and a control group using a random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. The experimental group was treated with customized 3D-printed calcium sulfate carriers containing sensitive antibiotics, while the control group received conventional antibiotic treatment.Compare the bacterial clearance rate, cure rate, bone healing status, and the occurrence of complications between the two groups. Results:At 1,3,6 months postoperatively, the bacterial clearance rate in the experimental group were all 100.00%,which were higher than 85.00%、80.00%、75.00%in the control group, the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 3,6months postoperatively, the cure rate of the experimental group were 85.00%,90.00%,which were higher than 65.00%,70.00%of the control group, the differences between the two groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).At 6 months postoperatively, the bone healing rate in the experimental group was 80.00%,which was higher than 50.00%in the control group, the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the experimental group was 2.50%,which was lower than 20.00%in the control group, the difference between the groups was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:3D-printed absorbable antibiotic carriers have significant efficacy in the treatment of chronic osteomyelitis, effectively improving bacterial clearance and cure rates, and providing a new strategy for clinical treatment.
