In the 14th year of Qianlong,Peng Duanshu returned from Beijing to Sichuan for funeral,and in the 17th year of Qianlong,he returned to Beijing.He went through the Shu Road twice and left a number of chronicle poems.His poems of Shu Road during his return to Sichuan in the 14th year of Qianlong concentrat-ed on expressing his nostalgia complex and the spiritual relief he obtained by returning to his homeland,while the poems of Shu Road on his way to officialdom again focused on expressing the confusion about the unknown future and the determination of his own ideals.In addition to his strong personal feelings,Peng Duanshu's po-ems on Shu Road also reflect the true appearance and historical and cultural connotation of Shu Road in the early and mid-Qing Dynasty,and embody Peng Duanshu's historical view.
