The Impact of College Students'Sense of Emptiness on Their Dependence on Mobile Social Media:the Mediating Role of Loss Anxiety
Objective:to explore the current situation of college students'sense of emptiness,loss anxiety,and dependence on mobile social media,and analyze the relationship between the three variables.Methods:a survey was conducted on 300 college students in a medical college using the College Vacancy Questionnaire,Missing Anxiety Questionnaire,and Mobile Social Media Dependence Questionnaire.Results:there was a significant positive correla-tion between emptiness and dependence on mobile social media(r=0.56,P<0.001).There was a significant positive correlation between emptiness and loss anxiety(r=0.47,P<0.001),and a significant positive correlation between loss anxiety and dependence on mobile social media(r=0.55,P<0.001).Bootstrap mediation test found that loss anxiety partially mediates the relationship between emptiness and dependence on mobile social media.Conclusion:college students'sense of emptiness not only directly affects their dependence on mobile social media,but also has an impact on their dependence on mobile social media through the mediating effect of loss anxiety.
