Research and Analysis of Political Attributes of Multinational Oil and Gas Pipeline Projects
With the vigorous development of oil and gas trade,the industry of oil and gas transportation pipeline has also been greatly developed.At present,there are more than 3800 oil and gas pipelines in opera-tion in the world,with a total length of 2.4 million km,and a considerable part of these pipelines are transna-tional oil and gas pipelines.Compared to other international projects,due to the political attributes of transna-tional oil and gas pipelines as well as the impact on national energy security and international relations,they are often used as political weapons and a means of pipeline diplomacy.It is also an incentive for political risk.This article analyzes the inherent characteristics and political characteristics of transnational oil and gas pipeline projects so as to clarify the inherent properties of oil and gas pipelines.Consequently,it is capable of providing useful references for the future risk management of transnational oil and gas pipeline projects.
