The philosophy of American pragmatism emerged in the 1870s.It originated from the colonial history and the cultural roots of emphasizing profit.The main features of the pragmatism in the United States included the following three aspects:emphasizing on action,fo-cusing on results,and forging ahead.In political life,theU.S.leaders influenced by the philosophy of pragmatism,usually adopt pragmatic attitude to solve the problems they face and make the best use of available opportunities to achieve their maximum benefits.This paper mainly takes the foreign policy of the Trump administration as an ex-ample to probe into the American pragmatism philosophy.
