Research on the section scale of large artificial waterways based on the resistance change of 10 000 ton ships
This paper aimed at the shortcomings of the current domestic regulations on the design of large-scale artificial waterways that can pass 3,000 ton ships. From the perspective of the speed and economy of restricted waterways, defined the economic speed section of large artificial waterways.Based on mathematical models, studied the recommended parameter range of section sizes that met the navigation requirements of 10,000-ton ships(total length 130 m×type width 22 m×design draft 5.5 m).Specifically,Used the open source program package FUNWAVE-TVD based on the completely nonlinear Boussinesq equation to establish a mathematical model of ship wave propagation deformation and resistance change in a restricted channel.Simulated the change law of ship resistance under the conditions of different slope ratios and channel bottom widths, and focused on the influence of channel bottom width and side slope ratios on navigational resistance. The research results show that in the design of large-scale artificial waterways, for the trapezoidal section, the slope ratio should be 1:3,the bottom width should be 90 m when the water depth is 8 m,and the section coefficient should be 7.54;when the water depth is 9 m,the bottom width should be 70 m,and the section coefficient should be 7.21.
