Analysis on riverbed evolution characteristics in Wenzhongba reach of the upper Yangtze River
In recent years, siginificant alterations have been observed in the riverbed topography and evolutionary characteristics of the Wenzhongba section in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River. These alterations have had a considerable impact on navigational conditions, particularly during the dry season, necessitating channel maintenance dredging to ensure navigational dimensions.Acquiring a comprehensive understanding of the riverbed's evolutionary characteristics and the underlying reasons is crucial for precise maintenance implementation and serves as a foundation for the formulation and execution of ecological waterway construction.Through the analysis of multi-year field data, this paper reveals the distinctive features and primary causes of the recent riverbed evolution in the Wenzhongba section.Addressing the changes in navigational conditions resulting from riverbed evolution, the paper puts forward strategies for channel maintenance and governance. The insights provided in this paper hold substantial practical value for the effective maintenance and governance of the Wenzhongba section's waterway.
