Analysis of adverse impact of the lower Yellow River channel project on mitigating suspended river
The riverbed elevation of the"above ground suspended river"in the lower reaches of the Yellow River is of 4 to 6 meters higher than the ground behind the river on average, posing a significant hazard to the safety of cities and towns on both banks. In order to address these risks, the formation mechanism of Hukou waterfall was used for reference, and the river channel in the lower reaches of the Yellow River was artificially dug to make the flow back into the channel, enhancing flow velocity, increasing flow scouring capacity, and reducing the sedimentation of suspended sediment. The ecological channel restoration project in the lower reaches of the Yellow River is the optimal way to dig the river channel manually.During the regulation of the lower reaches of the Yellow River, according to the dredging section parameters designed in scientific planning, the river cross-sections and longitudinal gradients were accurately excavated and cut down.At the same time, the river embankment was protected by curtain grouting along the inner embankment toe to avoid the collapse of the high slope formed by the river embankment after channel regulation. The above measures can not only reduce the adverse impacts of"above ground suspended river"in the lower Yellow River, but also solve the multiple problems of river wandering and bridge blocking that hinder river regulation and ecological channel restoration in the lower Yellow River.
