Research on optimization design of impermeable curtain based on fine three-dimensional geological modeling
The seepage issues in fractured rock masses exist extensively in mining, hydraulic engineering, slope engineering, and underground engineering, which severely affect the stability of the projects and pose difficulties for the design of impervious curtains for dams.To solve the problem of fracture-type rock mass seepage in gravity dams, the 3DEC discrete element numerical simulation method was utilized to build a precise 3D geological model based on the Shenshan Underwater Reservoir Project including a fracture network, which conducts a detailed analysis of rock mass fracture-type seepage flow for the preliminary design scheme of seepage control curtain based on geological survey information. The preliminary design scheme of the anti-seepage curtain based on geological exploration information was analyzed for the seepage flow of rock fractures.Suggestions are proposed for the extension of the anti-seepage end boundary on the right bank horizontally and the downward extension of the overall anti-seepage wall depth on the left bank.
