Study on purification effect of submerged plant communities in water
In suit ecological remediation has been recognized as a vital method for improving water environment, along with water environment quality gradually recovering. In particular, submerged macrophyte community restoration act an important role in ecological protection of water environment. In this paper, the restoration of submerged plant communities was examined as an important approach for water environmental governance, particularly within the context of the Tonglong river comprehensive governance project.Different combinations of five indigenous submerged plant species, namely Vallisneria spiralis L.,Hydrilla verticillata Royle,Myriophyllum spicatum L.,Potamogeton crispus L.,and Potamogeton pectinatus L.,were investigated for their effects on water quality indicators and the removal of nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus. The research results can guide the species selection and collocation of submerged plant communities in water ecological restoration projects, help to improve the effect of submerged plant communities on water purification, and have important reference significance for water ecological restoration.
