Numerical simulation of the breakwater cover effect during construction process under long period wave
The analysis of the wave field behind the breakwater is of great importance for the rational design of the port, safe operation and a sensible operational arrangement during the construction period. The wave propagation process under the breakwater cover was numerically simulated based on the Boussinesq equation model. The research object in this paper was the main breakwater during the construction period of the Peruvian port of Chancay. The wave field distributions behind the breakwater were determined under the combination of typical long-period sea states and two construction miles of the breakwater. It is shown that when the breakwater moves forward to K0+2100,the breakwater has a good shielding effect on the harbor area, but the shielding effect on the breakwater entrance area is weaker. The influence of the breakwater on the wave period during the construction process is small; The shielding effect is better with the SSW wave direction than with the SW wave direction. The present study provides an effective method for evaluating the coverage effect of the breakwater during the construction period and provides a basis for sensible planning and planning optimization of the port.
